Le Parlement européen a adopté cette semaine une nouvelle résolution sur la situation en Syrie : « Face à la tragédie humaine qui continue de se dérouler sous nos yeux en Syrie, nous continuons d’appeler à un cessez-le-feu immédiat, à des corridors humanitaires et à la mise en place de voies légales de migration » déclare, une nouvelle fois, Nathalie Griesbeck. La résolution du Parlement condamne également les bombardements sur les populations civiles ainsi que les attaques sur les hôpitaux et convois d’aide humanitaire. Nathalie Griesbeck a également participé, mercredi, au lancement de la campagne #EndViolence against #ChildrenofSyria menée par l’intergroupe « Droits de l’Enfant » dont elle est vice-présidente. La campagne #EndViolence against #ChildrenofSyria de l’intergroupe « Droits de l’Enfant » :
L’intergroupe « Droits de l’enfant » du Parlement européen, dont Nathalie Griesbeck est vice-présidente, lançait également cette semaine, une campagne de communication destinée à alerter sur la situation des enfants syriens qui vivent sous les bombardements incessants, dans des zones en état de siège, dans des situations de violence inouïe, etc. et ce depuis plus de 5 ans déjà !

Today, the European Parliament Intergroup on Children’s Rights launched a campaign to #EndViolence against #ChildrenOfSyria in #Aleppo supported by UNICEF.
Many MEPs from different groups and nationalities gathered in front of the Plenum in Strasburg to demonstrate their support and call to put an end to the war in Syria and to the atrocities against Syrian children in Aleppo.
MEP Anna Maria Corazza Bildt, Co-Chair of the Intergroup on Children’s Rights, said: « We strongly condemn the indiscriminate bombings on families and hospitals and the use of illegal weapons. The EU should confront Russia with its responsibilities as member of the UNSC. For Russia to be a partner for peace, they must respect humanitarian law and go back to negotiating table”
According to UNICEF at least 100 children have been killed and 223 have been injured in Aleppo last week by Syrian army and Russian airstrikes and more than 100 000 are under siege exposed to extreme suffering.
MEP Caterina Chinnici, Co-Chair of the Intergroup on Children’s Rights, said « Since the beginning of the Syrian war more than 2.1 million children inside Syria, and 700,000 in neighbouring countries, are out-of-school. It is crucial to guarantee access to education to all the children in conflict areas to give them a sense of normalcy and avoid a lost generation. Five years of war are a lifetime for these children! »
“As Intergroup we cannot stay silent before this bloodshed! We are talking about millions of Syrian children in permanent danger and despair! We must act to give a hope to millions of young people in Syria, who have only experienced nothing else but war!” added MEP Nathalie Griesbeck, Vice-Chair of the Intergroup on Children’s Rights.
